Now that I am considering what would make into next month’s roll-out, I would be happy to hear from you – post comments, suggestions, improvements.

On the table right now:

  • Theme’s mini mode – it is useful when embeded inside other web-site. Goal is to reduce header, footer and make some rearrangments to the layout.
    Comments, suggestions are welcomed.
  • iPad frame pack – similar to book framepack, it would feature different thumbs for albums/photos.

Items are still in the list for consideration from last poll (please remind me, if I am missing anything):

  • Sidebar visibility management based on page type – link

Note: This is not the place to post errors – please use gallery forum thread

Ability to set number of Pictures displayed on photo page.
Ability to disable download of pictures from website by visitor. (This may be a Gallery 3 “issue”)
Ability to upload several albums (Parent/Childs) Again this may be a Gallery 3 limitation.

Ability to set number of Pictures displayed on photo page.

Please elaborate on what you mean here, please. Photo page only shows one image at the time. There is logic for slideshow, but it can be disabled with “Fancybox Mode”

Ability to disable download of pictures from website by visitor. (This may be a Gallery 3 “issue”)

there is module which prevents right click on the page. It is a pretense as it does not really protects you from the operation. It is browser, user can look at the code and grab url, make screenshot, there are caches where image are placed, etc… so it is not theme’s issue, neither it is G3.
You can disable Full View mode for visitors from permissions page of G3. this is the only thing you can do effectively.

Ability to upload several albums (Parent/Childs) Again this may be a Gallery 3 limitation.

Not option of the theme. You may want to check HTML Uloader

      Dear Serge,

Ability to set number of Pictures displayed on photo page
I meant to set the number of rows on the album page BUT I now found out that your theme allows this already so disregard this one.

      Ability to disable download
Yes I did learn that there is a module for it (Thanks) But I have now my website pasword protected as it is only used for the family so downloading is not an issue anymore.
      So disregard this input

      Ability to upload several albums
This was prompted by problem I have (had) See http://gallery.menalto.com/node/101860

Did not know about the module you pointed out nor the server add module.
Have tried this but I still struggle with the path settings.
      However also disregard this one

Sorry to bother with my inputs. Need to learn more about G3 and your theme

Thanks again for your quick responses

      Kind regards

This is a great theme, just about perfect.

The feature that I would like to see (as stated in your forum thread) is scalable icons. I hear complaints from people visiting my gallery that the navigation icons are too small, and go unnoticed by many.

I would think it would be great if there was a discrete way of increasing the size of the icons, either through a manipulating a single css attribute, or through the admin interface for the theme.

One idea would be to increase the ui-icons.png by something like 300% (for example), and have it default to showing it at 1/3 of its size, so that the default icon size would be the same as it is now. Then, you could let us manipulate the size of the icons, all the way up to 3x the size without any loss of resolution. If you don’t want to do this for all the images in ui-icons, then split off the navigation icons from the others into another file, say navi-icons. (I consider the navigation to be everything from “view full size”, “slideshow”, “Photo Details”, “View Comments…”, “First”, “Previous”, “Up”, “Next” and “Last”.)

Of course, that is just one idea on how it could be done. You, no doubt, would know best!

Thanks!

GD uses 15px in height for existing operation thumbs (calendar, slideshow, etc…). Wind uses 28px…
So what would be base sizes you propose?

Not sure what the iPad frame pack would look like, but it sounds promising. Currently I’m using “book” for the album thumbs, but darkglass for the image thumbs. What I least like about this combination is that the outer edge of the “book” frames have square corners, while the image frames are rounded. I’ve contemplated trying to gin up a book frame with rounded corners, but so far haven’t tried … for fear that I’d get strange or non-matching corner radius.

I don’t like the G3 Album tree as much as that which was in G2, but that’s not a Greydragon issue. 🙂

Bigger nav icons. 28px like in the other GD version would do nicely. With hover over text in a balloon that explains what it is and what it does.
Separate the settings for albums displayed per page versus pictures displayed in an album per page. Right now it’s global.
More header space for a larger logo image. Wouldn’t hurt to make the footer just a bit taller also.
A clock either in the footer or as an add-on to the sidebar.
Be able to adjust the size of the thumb and the frame to fit. Keeping the thumb perspective where it’s set already.

It’s fine as it is but if I was asked to tweak it just a bit, those would be at the top of my list.

1. System already supports bigger icons (please check admin section) and tooltips
2. Please elaborate about the settings
3. Header/footer height could be adjusted via custom.css – please refer to FAQ page for the theme in codex
4. Clock can be added by means of creating a new module
5. I am not planning to support dynamic thumb sizes – closest you can get when using “actual” thumb aspect

I would love the ability to add an additional custom menu so it would blend with a site.
Also have the “Current page” link in this menu be another color.Drupal lets you do this within its site.
Been unable to find how to do this in G3 and have combed the css for Grey Dragon for any clues.
Love the theme…Thanks
